This is very nice! As it's been said, I love the textures, and the shading in the background looks so inviting, I wish I could just jump into this painting and roam around those woods :)

Thanks! I see you took some effort and browsed previous comments :) I see I made a really nice painting that works well with imagination of my audience, I'm so happy to have such, let's say, impact on you :la:
The same question I asked a mate in the previous comment. Have I been featured somewhere or something as I'm getting many favs out of the sudden on this piece. Or you just came it across somehow differently?

No problem. Hehe, yeah, I like perusing the comments, just to see others inputs. And yes, yes it did, quite well. I'm pretty picky when it comes to forests, but this is just an absolute gem! I'm a sucker for old/enchanted forests, so this was a must have in my collection!

As for how I found it, it was in 'more like this'. It's great for helping one find sometimes unseen art, but also terrible for my train of thought. I don't even remember where I started, but I somehow ended up getting airbrushed backgrounds in the feed, but I'm so glad I did.

Aww, you're too kind! I'm really happy that someone's calling my artwork a "gem" :la: The funny fact is I never expected this painting to become so popular in my gallery.

Thanks, it looks like many people found it today this way. I think I'm going to love "more like this" feature : >

I'm being completely honest though! It certainly deserves all the attention and likes it's getting, so I agree, "more like this" is a great way to find new artists and such :)

Thanks. As far as I remember there was just hard round custom brush, some textured brush that I've made and other two. I just was messing around experimenting. May I ask if I was featured somewhere? I'm getting tons of favs (compared to the amount I normally get daily) there out of the sudden.

I assume you meant I should be happy with it :p
I don't really know what CP refers to (Corel Painter? Just my guess) but if you meant software I use Photoshop CS 5 and as hardware - my Pentagram Virtuoso tablet (sometimes I can draw using Wacom Intuos 4 but rarely).

really love the mood and color composition..although I think giving some details to the tree leaves would improve the painting by a lot..that is what I think ^^

Thanks : ) I also think it really would improve but.. the only way I can draw leaves is abstract way you can see there. I'm afraid that if I try to make them more realistic and detailed it'd be a disaster ^^

I tried, drew them three times before I decided to give up. Sometimes it's better to move on and work on another painting than correcting something again and again : )

Thanks for leaving a comment, I appreciate such critiques : )

i love your choices of color on this piece, the desaturated hues make for a beautifully realistic color pallet. The intensity of the contrast between dark and shadow is great, I am however curious if youconsidered using a color for the shadow rather than black like perhaps a dark red compliment or something. that is however my own sense of nitpickyness

Thanks for your kind words. To be honest, I didn't. Just thought that this color match. It also wasn't meant to be black, it's very dark green but the result is almost the same.

Ah i see, Ive had the same happen in some of my paintings, the contrast of the color pushes it to look like black

I've also played around with contrast at the end so I believe I've strenghten the illusion of it being black.
